What this site is
isthiscovered.org is a reference library about how commercial insurance policies actually work — what business owner's policies, commercial property, workers' compensation, cyber, and commercial auto cover, what they exclude, and how the certificate-of-insurance machinery connects policies to contracts. It is written for the professionals who buy insurance for their companies: finance leaders, controllers, operators, and founders.
Who publishes it
This site is compiled and published under its own name, isthiscovered.org. We state that plainly, because a reference on what is and is not covered is only as trustworthy as the publisher behind it.
Our sister site, Please Don't Sue Us, applies the same library model to liability coverage — general liability, E&O, D&O, and employment practices. Content here is maintained by the editorial team, reachable by email.
Why it exists
Coverage questions have exact answers — a policy form either contains an exclusion or it does not — yet the pages that rank for them rarely give one. Ask whether a BOP covers a stolen laptop and the top results come from companies selling policies: vague where the form is precise, quoting conflicting figures with no methodology, pitched at first-time novices.
The professionals who actually read contracts and buy coverage for companies go unserved. isthiscovered.org exists to close that gap.
How pages are made
Every page answers one real question, drawn from research into what business-insurance buyers actually ask online.
Answers cite primary sources — policy forms, state statutes, regulator publications, and the platform and contract policies that impose insurance requirements in the first place — ahead of marketing pages. Where sources conflict, we show the conflict rather than averaging it away: if two authorities read an exclusion differently, you see both readings. We never quote pricing figures we cannot stand behind, which is why you will not find "average cost" numbers here.
Research and drafting use AI tools, but every page is reviewed and fact-checked by the editorial team before publication and carries visible publish and review dates. The full standards are in our editorial policy.
Independence and funding
The library is funded by its publisher and nothing else. There are no affiliate links, no paid placements, and no lead selling — no carrier, broker, or vendor pays to appear here or influences what a page concludes.
The ask-a-question box on every page feeds our editorial queue and nothing else: no mailing list, no quotes, no sales follow-up. That independence is disclosed here, in our editorial policy, and in the footer of every page.
